Actress Judy Reyes Helping Raise Awareness of the Impact of Breast Cancer on the Latino Community


This is a segment we did as part of a Satellite/Radio/Internet Media Tour for BreastCancer.org.  This segment was produced for My Latino Voice.

Breastcancer.org announced a dedicated effort to bring the most up-to-date information about breast cancer to the Spanish-speaking community. Actress Judy Reyes (Gun Hill Road, Scrubs) and leading oncologist Dr. Generosa Grana are speaking to media nationwide during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help raise awareness of the impact of breast cancer on the Latino community and let them know about this comprehensive, new resource from leading non-profit Breastcancer.org.

INNOVATIVE MOBILE HEALTH PROGRAM PROVIDES ESSENTIAL HEALTH TIPS TO PREGNANT WOMEN AND NEW MOMS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Text4baby program plays a significant role in health care by delivering text messages to those who need it most

Each year in the U.S., more than 500,000 babies are born prematurely and approximately 28,000 children die before their first birthday. With one in four births today to a Hispanic mother, it is imperative that Hispanic moms be armed with tools and resources necessary to carry out a healthy pregnancy and raise healthy babies. Unfortunately, Latinos are disproportionately affected due to a number of health barriers and lack of access to care, resulting in lower birth weight, higher preterm rates, and less frequent prenatal visits.

TeleNoticias works with Luis Fonsi and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Latin Grammy winning singer Luis Fonsi urging viewers to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for its 2010 Thanks and Giving Campaign, during a SMT/RMT and Internet Media Tour.  Fonsi did 26 interviews for TV and radio stations and 10 online segments for news sites and blogs.  Segments aired on Univision‘s “Primer Impacto“, Telemundo‘s “Al Rojo Vivo, CNN en Español, and stations in Los Angeles and New York, among others.
